Addictions counselling

You are more than the behaviour.

Alcohol, substances or a compulsive behaviour can come to occupy more of your life than you intended. Counselling offers space to understand the pattern, what keeps it going, and what you want to move towards.

Understanding creates room for choice.

We look beyond the behaviour alone to the experiences, emotions, relationships, beliefs and circumstances connected with it. Trauma may be part of that picture, but it is not an assumption or the only explanation.

The work brings compassion together with responsibility: recognising what has shaped you while strengthening your ability to make choices in the present. Your values, relationships, identity and sense of direction matter alongside changes in behaviour.

Recognise the pattern

Explore triggers, urges, short-term relief and longer-term consequences without reducing yourself to a label.

Build practical responses

Develop ways to respond to difficult emotions, high-risk situations and the moments when an old pattern becomes tempting.

Learn from setbacks

Examine a slip or return to use carefully, identify what needs to change, and reconnect with the next constructive step.

Recover direction

Clarify what makes change worthwhile and build towards a life that is increasingly consistent with what matters to you.

You do not need a perfect explanation or complete certainty about change to begin a conversation.
